Kim Jong-Un appeared in public in a North Korean state media report

According to North Korean state media, Kim Jong-Un appeared in public for the first time in 20 days.

 The North Korean leader cut the ribbon at the inauguration of the fertilizer factory.

It added that people inside the factory "dropped a storm cloud" when it appeared on Friday.

The reported appearance - his first health since a program on state media on April 12 - has come amid global speculation about his health.

The latest North Korean media reports could not be independently verified.

State media later released photos showing Mr Kim cutting ribbons outside the factory.

Asked about Mr Kim's reappearance, US President Donald Trump told reporters he did not want to comment.

What started the speculation about his health?

Speculation about Mr Kim's health began when he remembered the birthday celebrations of his grandfather, state founder Kim Sung, on April 15.

The anniversary is one of the biggest events in North Korea's calendar, and Mr Kim usually visits the shrine where his grandparents live. Mr Kim never missed an event.

Claims about Mr Kim's health have since surfaced in a report on a North Korean-run website.

An unnamed source told the Daily NK that he understood he had been suffering from heart disease since last August "but it got worse after repeated visits to Mount Pemet."
As a result, the international media began reporting on the same juicy story.

News agencies then began to follow suit, and this was followed by reports that intelligence agencies in South Korea and the United States were monitoring the claim.

But then another sensational headline appeared in the US media that the North Korean leader was in critical condition after undergoing heart surgery.
On April 29, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo appeared to reinforce rumors that US officials had not "seen" Mr Kim recently.

However, a statement from the South Korean government, and Chinese intelligence sources, told Reuters that this was not true.

Has Kim Jong Un disappeared before?

Yes. Mr Kim went missing for 40 days in September 2014 after attending a concert. He returned using a cane in mid-October.

State media never said where he was. But South Korea's intelligence agency said he may have had an operation on his left ankle due to cyst problems.
