Hizbul Mujahideen chief commander Riaz Naiko martyred in clash with Indian army

Hizbul Mujahideen chief Riaz Naiko and his comrades were martyred during a clash with the Indian Army in Pulwama district of Occupied Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a search operation was conducted by the occupying Indian Army in Begpura village of Pulwama district during which a clash took place with Mujahideen.

Hizbul Mujahideen chief commander Riaz Naiko and his comrade Adil Ahmed were martyred during the clash.

It is believed that Riaz Naiko was appointed as the Commander-in-Chief of Hizbul Mujahideen after the martyrdom of Burhan Wani in 2016.

Who was Riaz Naiko?
Riaz Naiko hailed from Begpura area of Pulwama and was a mathematics teacher.

He joined the armed struggle against the usurping Indian army in 2012 and became the commander-in-chief of Hizbul Mujahideen in 2016.

Riaz Naiko was among the most wanted persons in India whose head was valued at INR 1.2 million.

Internet service off
Following the martyrdom of the Hizbul Mujahideen chief commander, a wave of grief and outrage has swept across the valley, while the occupying administration has tightened curfew in the valley and shut down internet service.

On the other hand, the Hurriyat Conference on Friday declared a strike against the martyrdom of Riaz Naiko and appealed to the people to attend the funeral of the martyr.

A statement issued by the Hurriyat Conference said that the funeral prayers of Riaz Naiko should be offered in absentia in the entire valley.

It may be recalled that barbaric acts by the Indian occupying forces in the occupied valley have intensified and in the last two weeks, the occupying forces have martyred more than 20 Kashmiri youths in the name of fake operations.
