ISIL's attack in Iraq has killed 10 members of the state-run Hashd al-Shabi militia and wounded several others.
Clashes between ISIS and Iraqi paramilitary forces continue in Salahuddin province, according to the foreign news agency.
According to Iraqi media, 10 members of the Hashd al-Shabi were killed and several others were injured in the attack in the city of Balad, while several ISIS fighters were also killed.
Hashd al-Shabi is thought to be a group of several small and large militant organizations in Iraq that was mobilized in 2017 to fight ISIS and was given the status of a government paramilitary force.
All volunteers involved are considered part of the armed forces and enjoy all the privileges and rights enjoyed by soldiers.
The coalition has been instrumental in defeating ISIS in Iraq, so it is often the target of ISIS operations.
ISIL has stepped up its attacks in Iraq since last month, with four people wounded in an attack on its intelligence headquarters in Kirkuk.
