In Canada, 1,500 models of military-grade weapons were immediately banned.
According to a foreign news agency, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said that buying, selling, transporting or using military-grade weapons will no longer be allowed in Canada.
Justin Trudeau said the weapons were designed to kill large numbers of people in a short period of time, but Canada has no use for such weapons and there is no place in Canada for such lethal weapons.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has announced a two-year amnesty for those who surrender their weapons.
He said parliament would legislate to compensate those who surrendered.
The decision by the Prime Minister of Canada to impose an immediate ban on military-grade weapons comes two weeks after 22 people were killed in a shooting.
Last month, a gunman shot dead 16 people in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, but the death toll has since risen to 22.
